Mi obra explora la idea de la existencia como un viaje inevitable: una travesía que no elegimos, pero que estamos llamados a recorrer con conciencia y asombro. A través del dibujo, la gráfica y la pintura, construyo narrativas visuales donde la línea, libre, gestual, a veces contenida, se convierte en el hilo conductor de historias que hablan de memoria, tiempo y transformación.

Mis personajes, casi siempre figuras de edad avanzada, encarnan la experiencia acumulada de múltiples travesías. Son navegantes de tierras fantásticas, seres que parecen haber vivido mil viajes y que, por ello, poseen una mirada abierta hacia lo desconocido, hacia nuevas posibilidades de mundo y distintas formas de comprender la vida. Más que retratos, son arquetipos del viajero interior: símbolos de sabiduría, resistencia y apertura.

Los escenarios que habitan remiten constantemente a la navegación, faros, brújulas, sextantes, mares imaginarios, no como referencias literales, sino como metáforas del desplazamiento humano, físico y espiritual. Me interesa ese punto en el que el mapa deja de ser una herramienta de control para convertirse en una invitación a perderse.

Concibo el acto creativo como un ejercicio de cartografía personal: cada obra es un intento por trazar rutas posibles entre lo real y lo fantástico, entre lo vivido y lo soñado. En ese tránsito, la imagen se vuelve un espacio donde el espectador también puede reconocerse como viajero y preguntarse por sus propios mapas, sus propias rutas y sus propios horizontes.

 My work explores the idea of existence as an inevitable journey: a voyage we do not choose, yet one we are called to walk with awareness and wonder. Through drawing, printmaking, collage, and painting, I construct visual narratives in which the line, free, gestural, at times restrained, becomes the guiding thread of stories about memory, time, and transformation.

My characters, most often elderly figures, embody the accumulated experience of countless travels. They are navigators of fantastic lands, beings shaped by a thousand journeys, whose gaze remains open to the unknown, to new possibilities of the world, and different ways of understanding life. More than portraits, they are archetypes of the inner traveler: symbols of wisdom, resilience, and openness.

The environments they inhabit constantly allude to navigation, lighthouses, compasses, sextants, imaginary seas, not as literal references, but as metaphors for human displacement, both physical and spiritual. I am drawn to that point where the map ceases to be a tool of control and becomes an invitation to get lost.

I conceive the creative act as a form of personal cartography: each work is an attempt to trace possible routes between the real and the fantastic, between what is lived and what is dreamed. In this passage, the image becomes a space where the viewer may also recognize themselves as a traveler, and question their own maps, their own routes, and their own horizons.
